Rick

If for nothing else, it has been worth it just for Chumpy. I live in a way too rural area where running possums over is considered good sport. To treat such an animal with kindness must bring about good karma. Hail Chumpy!

I too found you through Mr. Goad. Glad I did. Still can't stop listening to the Trio.

Blessings of the State. Blessings of the Masses.

One idea: Perhaps if you gave money in exchange for comments. A dollar, just enough to make people drop in and leave some semi-personal note.

I think the loneliness is more accentuated in these blogging things. Even the merest zine weenis (zenis?) gets some indefinable satisfaction from dropping by the records store and monitoring the diminishing stack of his photocopied diary. On good days he might even chat with the store-owner when he refreshes the pile. Here, you just get a little number that ticks off visits. It's all perception, but it adds up to things feeling more distant.

As one former and possibly current zenis to another, I can say that the important thing is to please yourself. And of course I mean masturbate. Often. It takes the edge off, trust me.

A lot of peeps use mp3blogs.org. Perhaps if
toeStubber was on there it will attract more
traffic. Though 4 comments on one post is
pretty good going - I've seen bloggers at it
for years attracting only spam in their comment
boxes (it always makes me feel guilty leaving
them without at least a thanks - I'm just a
taker).

Appreciate the comments. I know what tweeglitch means about the concentrated mp3 goodness of musicblogs; it's what attracted my interest in the first place. I have a list of blogs I try to check on a 10-day basis. It would be nice if Toestubber becomes a regular stop for some other folks, too.

Generally I spend more time clicking than reading,
let alone writing (there are too many mp3 blogs for
me to check). The Equals tracks were much apreaciated.
Pix of your of your record collection - impressive
(same here, but since kids they're under the stairs
until safe - though Josh (6yrs) has expressed an
interest in scratching so they may have to stay there
for a few more years). Can't remember listening to
the Cabbages and Kings - if I downloaded it then I
didn't like it (usually decide this after the first
couple of seconds - too much music) because I ain't
got it, but they look cool. Wish I had the time to
blog but too much to listen to. Why don't I just use
slsk? Because I'd end up downloading stuff I know
and album filler - blogs give me the concentrated
goodness. Shit - 12 posts to catch up on since I
started typing. Cheers

I for one totally appreciate your mad efforts.
